Melbourne Stampshow 2009 Australia's National Philatelic Exhibition for 2009, will be held at the Melbourne Park Tennis Centre Function Room (adjacent to the Rod Laver Arena – Melbourne Tennis Centre) from Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 July 2009 .

Volunteers are required to help with set up on the Wednesday. There is a need for mounting exhibits [ NO FRAME work required - being done by contractors]. Also help with setting up rooms etc. We require teams and individuals from 9.00am Wednsday 22nd July.

Volunteers are needed to man the VPC / RPSV / APF stand. We need help over the 4 days of the show.
If you can spare 2 hrs to help would be appreciated.

The Melbourne Park Tennis Centre Function Room is conveniently located in the heart of the city's sporting district, a short walk or tram ride from the Central Business District.  Open Hours will be:
Thursday 23 July 12noon – 6pm

Friday  24 July

10am – 5pm
Saturday 25 July 10am – 5pm
Sunday 26 July 10am – 4pm

Admission is $10 for adults (season Ticket Valid for all four days)
Sunday Special $5.00
Children admitted free. 

The venue, now very familiar to Melbourne's philatelic community is part of the
Melbourne Parks Sports Precinct with excellent parking facilities plus a tram route passing the door and Richmond Railway station all within easy walking distance.
Melbourne's last full national philatelic exhibition was held there in 2002

The Australasian Philatelic Traders’ Association (APTA) will be providing $50 prize vouchers to be drawn regularly during the exhibition. 
These can be spent at the exhibition or with any APTA member

Entries containing research into philatelic aspects of Australia Post services since 1970,
might be eligible to compete for the Australia Post Cup and a cash prize of $500.

Forty of Australia's leading stamp dealers as well as several from overseas plus Australia Post will be at the exhibition. 
Dealers will be offering free valuations and advice throughout the exhibition.  General information areas will be run by the Australian Philatelic Federation,
the Victorian Philatelic Council and the Royal Philatelic Society of Victoria providing lots of free information and advice about stamp clubs,
collecting and philately in general. 

Visitors to Melbourne Stampshow 2009 will have a rare opportunity to view some of the best philatelic collections in the country with over
750 frames of world class philatelic exhibits from over 130 exhibitors.
Australia Post will exhibit “Here Comes the Postie – 200 Years of Postal Services in
Australia”. The Exhibit will include gems from the National Philatelic Centre and the Chapman Collection.
