Philatelic Oddity
This doll was sent on a world trip but was thwarted by officialdom.
Originally posted from Sydney, Australia it was
intended she visit London, Nova Scotia, Montreal, Washington then back to
Sydney.
This was to be achieved by post - a label was attached for each Post Office
a particular city.
Appropriate postage had been attached so that all the Postmaster had to do
was stamp the doll then sent to the next city.
When she arrived in London it was determined that she was not suitable for
transmission by post & returned to the sender.
Front label has written note to this effect along with return to sender.
The doll has some red Backstamps (registration- she was sent registered -
part label on one ticket.
Printed on the back of the doll is information about the cloth doll being
a replica of the FAMOUS LIFE SIZE DOLL - doll retailed at 2/-.
